Acupuncture

AN ANCIENT CHINESE HEALING ART

Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of preventative medicine, dating back 5,000 years. Originating in China, it is the ancient practice of inserting sterile, hair-fine needles at specific points in the body to strengthen and stimulate the immune system and relieve pain and symptoms of disease. It predates recorded history in China, where it has been practiced for centuries and continues to play an important role in their medical system. The World Health Organization recognizes Acupuncture as effective treatment for symptoms, diseases and conditions ranging from arthritis, indigestion, infertility, anxiety, insomnia, headaches, asthma, to chronic fatigue, and more.

The classic healing art employs the body’s own energetic reserves to restore balance. The system uses natural energetic pathways found on the body’s surface. These pathways are intimately connected to the internal organ systems. Acupuncture has been proven effective in treating a wide variety of ailments including sciatica, chronic back pain, pregnancy discomfort, migraines, and depression.

I use single-use disposable needles and often combine Acupuncture treatments with other modalities.
